Chapter 5 - The Unfolding Visitor
Along the dark, seamless surface of the metal capsule, thin lines of blue light suddenly illuminated, tracing intricate patterns across the shell.
CLICK. WHIRR.
With mechanical precision, the outer panels of the capsule unlatched and folded neatly outward like the petals of a metallic flower. From inside the hollow core, two small mechanical legs extended downward into the loose soil, followed by tiny articulated arms with rounded fingers. Finally, a smooth, round head emerged from the center of the frame.
The capsule had completely transformed into a knee-high, silver-and-blue robot. A bright digital face screen booted up, revealing two large, glowing turquoise eyes that blinked twice to adjust to the bright sunlight.

The tiny robot looked up at Jack, tilted its round head to the side, and raised one delicate metal hand in a friendly gesture.
"Hi!" the robot chirped cheerfully, its voice sounding like a bright synth chime.
