Eleanor denied signing.
Independent verification showed digital certificate authentic.
But certificate could be used by someone with her hardware token.
Where was token?
Private office.
Who had access?
Eleanor.
Her assistant, Melissa Grant.
Victor.
Family counsel.
And occasionally mansion IT director, Peter Shaw.
Peter disappeared that morning.
Suspicious.
Police located him at airport.
He was not fleeing country.
He was traveling to Denver for documented family funeral.
He surrendered devices voluntarily.
No transfer evidence.
Melissa had stronger problem.
Her workstation created draft.
She admitted.
A man claiming to represent Ward 2 trustee requested routine restructuring.
She prepared documents.
Who?
Attorney named Julian Cross.
Cross.
Same surname as Catherine’s biological mother Miriam.
Could be coincidence.
Julian Cross existed.
Forty-four.
Estate attorney.
Miriam Cross was his great-aunt.
So he had family connection.
Did he know Catherine?
Yes.
Julian had spent years investigating Miriam.
He believed Whitmore Foundation stole Catherine from Cross family.
He wanted Ward 2 property returned to Miriam’s descendants.
Was that legally valid?
Unclear.
Catherine herself was Miriam’s descendant and had descendants Anna and Lily.
Ironically Lily might be strongest Cross-line claimant.
So why undermine Lily’s Whitmore status?
Because if Lily entered primary Whitmore trust, her Ward 2 interest might become subject to Whitmore governance rather than independent beneficiary control.
Julian wanted claims separated.
That aligned partly with Anna.
But did he manipulate Eleanor?
He admitted sending File 614 photocopy.
Did he write inflammatory note?
No.
Courier envelope contained photocopy plus unsigned summary.
Julian said he only sent full copy.
Someone intercepted or replaced pages.

Courier chain showed package delivered to mansion front desk.

Signature looked like hers.
Now someone was forging identities inside mansion.
Then Lily spoke.
“The man from kitchen.”
Everyone turned.
“What man?”
“A man asked me where Grandma keeps her gold key.”
When?
“Yesterday.”

Tall.
Gray jacket.
Scar on hand.
Victor knew him.
