The Three Girls in the Hallway

Rebecca Sloan was alive.

Claire had known for eleven months.

That was first major betrayal.

But Claire had not known before marrying Ethan.

She discovered Rebecca’s connection accidentally after receiving package addressed to late father.

Rebecca wrote:

I did something unforgivable because Julia begged me to help protect three girls.

Claire thought scam.

Then opened K-1.

Learned embryos.

Learned Mia.

Learned third carrier existed.

Mia had been living with licensed temporary guardian, Susan Sloan—Rebecca’s aunt.

Not kidnapped.

Rebecca had placed her there after Elizabeth’s guardianship because she feared Bellweather investigation.

Again excessive secrecy but child physically cared for.

Claire met Mia.

Did Ethan see Mia during those months?

Then why did three girls know same household details?

Julia prepared “Daddy books” for surrogate children.

A binder of photos, routines, family details, expecting eventual disclosure.

Rebecca used them.

Thus Mia and Nora knew Ethan.

Then Ethan intervened.

Nora arrived with Rebecca minutes earlier through side entrance; Rebecca left her temporarily in hallway to find Claire? Poor.
