Chapter 10 - The Hidden Lever
Emma chuckled softly, a low, confident sound that caused several board members around the table to exchange nervous glances.
"You think this is about a traffic incident, Damon?" Emma asked, leaning her hands on the edge of the glass table. "You've spent the last six months buying up secondary shares of Vance Financial through offshore accounts in Panama, trying to force a vote before anyone realized you didn't have the liquidity to back it up."
Damon’s posture stiffened instantly. "That is confidential company business."

"It was confidential until forty-five minutes ago," Emma replied calmly. "When I used the Sterling Trust's reserves to buy out your primary creditor, Apex Holdings. I now hold seventy percent of your personal debt, Mr. Vance. Which means I don't just own your shares—I own this building, your house, and that red Lotus parked in your private garage down below."
A collective gasp rippled through the board members. Damon stood up slowly from his chair, his hands clenching into fists as the color slowly drained from his face.
