The other child did not explain Sophie incident.
Maya insisted they separate cases.
Jonathan’s tank manipulation was current.
Daniel’s 2005 letter was historical.
Still, Ethan needed understand why parents lied.
Daniel identified child only as “M.”

Then Ethan asked David one final question.
“Why champagne gown?”
David blinked.
“What?”
“Eleanor dressed for formal gala setup while doing this.”

She was preparing for dinner event.

Not everything was clue.
Ethan almost smiled at absurdity.
He had started seeing mysteries everywhere.

Ethan leaned closer.
“It's behind the stone wall at Lake Mercer.”
A new mystery.
But Daniel added:
“It has nothing to do with Foundation money.”
Good.
Distinct.
“And nothing to do with why I disappeared.”
Even clearer.
“It's about Mom.”
