By morning, the jet had landed in Zurich, and Ethan had moved them into a secure, heavily guarded penthouse in the city’s financial district. Within hours, his legal and forensic team had initiated a global asset freeze against every account associated with Vance Global Solutions, trapping Marcus’s stolen funds in real-time.
Back in New York, the sudden, massive financial lockdown sent shockwaves through the Vance corporate headquarters. Marcus Vance sat in his top-floor corner office, his face pale as his team of attorneys informed him that every transaction had been blocked by federal authorities.
“He has the original ledger, Marcus,” one attorney whispered, his voice shaking. “And the maid’s testimony will connect you directly to the vehicle’s sabotage. It’s over.”
Marcus stared out the expansive glass windows at the city below, his jaw tightening as he realized the wall of protection he had built around himself had completely dissolved. He had underestimated the maid, and more importantly, he had underestimated the terrifying, protective rage of the cousin he had tried to destroy.
