Chapter 14 - The Night in Room 1807
Room 1807 had not been scene of betrayal.
It had been scene of decision.
Evelyn arrived carrying original Meridian ledger.
Arthur was waiting under Adrian Gray identity.
Mara Holt, relocation coordinator, arrived fifteen minutes later.
Victor Carter appeared unexpectedly.

Evelyn refused.

Arthur chose badly by allowing silence to continue.
No single villain explained eighteen years.
Raymond caused original fraud and manipulation.
Victor leaked Evelyn’s cooperation.
Arthur hid too much.
Evelyn stayed away too long.
Vanessa pursued revenge against wrong family.
Daniel discovered truth and exploited everyone.

Arthur replied:
“I was going to tell Daniel the audit had found his transfers.”
“And me?”
“That your husband was having an affair.”
“And Vanessa?”
Arthur looked at Evelyn’s daughter.
“That her mother was alive.”
Three truths.
One elevator.
That was why Daniel backed away.
Why Vanessa dropped glass.
