He was terminated by board.
Not Grandfather.

Eleanor’s communications were cited.
Her current assault remained separate legal matter.
Michael was cleared of 7C concealment.
Grandfather’s historical Northwind sign-off cited as governance precursor, though not cause of 7C.
He voluntarily stepped down as chair emeritus voting observer.
“Why?” Michael asked.
“Because if reform ends with everyone except me changing, it isn’t reform.”
Michael nodded.
Then Noah returned to mansion terrace weeks later with supervised family arrangements.
Snow remained.
He carried repaired airplane.
He did not flinch when Grandfather approached.
“Can it fly?”
“Not very well.”
“Fix it.”
Grandfather laughed.
“We can build another.”
Noah shook head.
“This one.”
So they repaired.
Not replaced.
Then Noah asked:
“Was Daddy bad?”
Grandfather stopped.
“No.”
“Was he good?”
“Yes.”
“Then why did he do bad things?”
Because children ask better questions.
Grandfather answered:
“Good people can make bad choices. What matters is whether we tell truth and try to repair what we can.”
Noah thought.
“Mommy?”
Grandfather’s throat tightened.
“Your mother did something very wrong. Adults are helping decide what happens next.”
“Does she love me?”
“I think she does.”
“Then why hurt me?”
Grandfather did not lie.
“I don’t know how to make that make sense, Noah.”
Because love does not make harm logical.
Then Noah handed airplane.
“Grandpa?”
“Yes?”
“There’s another name.”
Grandfather turned wing.

A tiny carving near tail:
S.C.
Samuel Cross.
Supplier founder.
Grandfather frowned.
Why was Samuel Cross’s initials carved into Daniel’s childhood airplane?
Michael saw.
His expression changed.
Then laughed.
“Dad, that isn’t Samuel.”
“Who?”
“Sarah Cole.”
Grandfather stared.
“Who is Sarah Cole?”
Michael’s smile disappeared.
“You don’t remember?”
He did not.
Michael said:
“She built the first version of this plane with us.”
That could become new mystery—but not yet.
Current arc still needs final closure then distinct mystery. Keep Sarah for Ch15 ending only, not tied to 7C? Need avoid conflating. We can say it is unrelated childhood clue. Perfect new arc.
