Grant did not accuse.
He asked for independent review.
His current baclofen dose remained high.
Dr. Bell inherited it years earlier and adjusted only modestly.
Could it suppress strength?
Yes.
Why not taper earlier?
Because Grant reported painful spasticity when reduced.
Then Rachel had secretly tracked symptoms.
On days Grant accidentally missed doses:
More pain.
More spasms.
But also more voluntary movement.
She suspected tradeoff.
Bell acknowledged.
“We discussed this.”
Grant didn't remember discussion clearly.
Medical records showed he did.
Three years ago:
Patient declines taper due severe pain and fear of falls.
Grant had chosen.
No cover-up.
That was hard truth.
Others manipulated him.
But he also made decisions from fear.
Then Rachel’s note:
Do not blame Bell. Grant chose comfort because we all taught him movement was dangerous.

Bell helped design gradual taper now.
Grant’s standing improved.
Pain increased.
He chose balance.
Then Selena’s legal case proceeded.
She admitted unlawful restraint and blood draw involving Emma.
Grant refused using influence.
Court handled.
Selena entered plea agreement and treatment.
She wrote Emma apology.
Grant did not give it immediately.
Asked therapist.
Eventually Emma chose read.
No forced forgiveness.
Then Claire-like mystery needed final layers around vial.
Forensic lab found blue vial label had microscopic writing beneath tape.
Not Rachel.
Victor.

Twelve years ago.
How could Victor label diagnostic drug twelve years ago if Rachel received from Vincent two years ago?
Vincent lied about origin.
He had found it among Victor’s old samples.
So Victor had considered neuromuscular challenge at beginning.
He suspected Grant had preexisting condition?
Maybe.
Old note surfaced:
Patient weakness disproportionate to structural findings. Consider NMJ testing after stabilization.
Victor planned testing.
Never completed.
Why?
Grant transferred rehab facility after William pressure.
Then later everyone assumed spinal injury.
A missed diagnosis began.
Not malicious.
Then Rachel wrote:
This is the part nobody will want to hear. There was no single day they took walking away from you.
Grant read slowly.
Accident injured him.
Medication weakened him.
Selena mishandled vial but probably did not cause lasting harm.
Victor scared him.
William exploited recovery for merger.
Vincent profited from pessimism.
Grant chose not to risk pain.
Doctors anchored on old diagnosis.
Rachel delayed truth.
Selena hid evidence.
Twelve years emerged from accumulation.
That was more powerful than one villain.
But Chapter 15 still needed payoff of Emma/vial.
Then Grant found final locked video.

FOR EMMA’S FATHER, NOT EMMA.
Rachel appeared.
She held blue vial.
“This vial does not cure Grant.”
Good.
“If Emma ever believes it does, I failed.”
Grant’s eyes filled.
Then:
“The vial is a marker.”
Marker for what?
Rachel turned it.
Blue glass reflected light.
“There is a number etched on bottom.”
Grant examined actual vial.
Tiny:
April 17.
Date?
Whose?
Their wedding anniversary was April 17.
No.
Grant’s accident occurred April 17.
Twelve years ago.
Rachel had marked vial with accident date?
Victor did.
Why?
Then Grant checked crash medical records.
At emergency room, blood sample labeled 0417-B.
A stored specimen still existed.
Rachel had located it.
