Samuel Reed compared torn strip with Henry’s draft.
Paper stock matched.
Not proof of contents.
But Margaret Vale confirmed witnessing Henry sign a packet June 18.
“What was in it?”
“I wasn't allowed to read every page.”
She remembered title:
RESTATEMENT AND DISCLOSURE INSTRUCTIONS.
Not simply will amendment.
Henry bundled estate changes with corporate disclosure.
He wanted documents released together after death.
Why weren’t they?
Because packet vanished overnight.
Hattie had always denied taking it.
Michael claimed he did not.
Andrew believed Michael had.
Now Lily had found it six years later.
Where had it been all that time?
Behind loose floorboard near kennel.
Henry himself could have hidden it June 18 after signing.
Margaret remembered helping him walk through living room that evening.
He asked everyone leave him alone for ten minutes.
Possible.
Then Michael found packet on day incident.
What did he do?
He took it downstairs.
Why not call attorney?
Because he read first page.
It exposed Hattie’s unauthorized $1.2 million transfer.
Michael panicked.
He still wanted protect mother.
So he confronted her privately.
That was why he told Lily forget it.
Hattie followed downstairs.
Argument erupted.
Michael claimed Hattie grabbed packet and ran upstairs.
When Penelope entered minutes later, Hattie was already coercing Lily.
“Why didn't you stop her?”
“I came upstairs after hearing crash.”
“You were in house.”
“Yes.”
“You let me believe you just arrived.”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because if police knew I found packet and it disappeared again, I’d look responsible.”
Penelope stared at husband.
“You cared more about looking guilty than telling truth about what happened to our daughter.”
Michael had no defense.
That was perhaps most important revelation about him.
He might not have planned Hattie’s cruelty.
But every decision afterward protected himself.
Then investigators found Penelope’s missing tablet.
Not in kennel.
Inside Hattie’s car.
Forensic analysis showed security app opened at 3:18.
Seven minutes deleted.
Hattie had attempted erase evidence.
She admitted deletion.
“I panicked.”
“Because footage showed you abusing Lily?”
“Yes.”
“Because it showed Michael?”
Hattie hesitated.
“Both.”
Penelope leaned forward.
“What happened in those seven minutes?”
Hattie refused.
Recovered fragments showed Andrew unlocking kennel.
Michael later arriving.
Hattie coercing Lily.
But central middle section remained corrupted.
Then forensic team restored audio without image.
Lily crying.
Hattie:
“Tell me where other page is.”
Michael:
“Mother, stop.”
Then a slap-like impact against metal.
Lily screamed.
Penelope’s stomach turned.
Michael’s voice:
“I said STOP.”
Then Hattie shouted:
“You don't understand what Henry wrote about Penelope!”
Everything changed.
