Chapter 9 - Forty-Eight Hours
Eleanor finally told full 1992 story.
At twenty-nine, she worked administrative operations for Bennett Foundation.
Briar Glen’s early family-support wing sometimes provided temporary licensed respite beds.
Harbor Family Services needed emergency placement for newborn Emma for two nights.
Susan and Mark Collins were delayed out of state because severe storm.
Margaret had completed lawful adoption consents.
But she explicitly requested baby remain at hospital-affiliated nursery until Collinses arrived.
Why?

Not proof death.
A forwarding address led to mailbox.
Then Emma received email from unknown address.
Subject:
PLEASE STOP LOOKING FOR ROSE.
Body:
She left the Bennett story for a reason.
Emma stared.
Could be Rose herself.
Could be someone else.
Attached photograph showed Lily at playground three months earlier.
