The hotel meeting occurred two days after embryo transfer.
Adrian believed Emma consented.
He told Claire:
“Emma and Ethan are carrying my child.”
Claire thought he meant surrogacy arrangement.
She was horrified but assumed all adults knew.
“Why them?”
Adrian said Ethan was only person outside Vale family he trusted to protect child from Richard.

He used parenthood to manufacture legal standing.
Emma said:
“He could have asked.”
Rachel answered quietly:
“He knew Ethan would say no.”
Exactly.
So Adrian found a way around no.

Then police finally located Adrian.
