Ethan stood in the doorway, his broad frame framed by the entryway lights. His tailored black suit coat stretched tight across his muscular shoulders, his dark hair disheveled from his frantic drive home. The moment his intense blue eyes locked onto Lily crawling on the marble floor with a chain around her neck, every drop of blood in his body turned to fire.
“GET AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER!” Ethan roared, the sheer power of his voice shaking the crystal pendants of the chandelier overhead.
He sprinted across the cream-and-gold room like a predator, his heavy leather dress shoes slamming against the marble floor. But before he could reach Claire, Damon stepped directly into his path, throwing his athletic frame in front of his older brother and shoving Ethan hard in the chest to halt his momentum.
