The mansion Wi-Fi logs preserved encrypted calling-session metadata.
Not content.
At 2:13:41, Claire’s phone connected to a secure messaging app.
Session:
36 seconds.
Contact alias:
S.V.
Samuel Voss.
Police seized his devices under warrant after evidence threshold.
Voss admitted call.
But denied being at mansion.
The figure?
Not him.
His location placed him at hospital conference.
Call transcript unavailable, but Claire described:
She told Voss she had Rachel’s R-6 evidence.
Voss told her:
“You don’t understand what you found.”
Claire:
“Then explain.”
Voss:
“Not over phone.”
Claire:
“Someone is in Ethan’s house.”
Voss:
“Get Sophie away from them.”
That was crucial.
Voss did not tell her drop baby.
He told remove Sophie from unknown person.
Claire then did opposite.
Why?
Claire claimed figure across balcony threatened:
“Give me Sophie or Anna gets hurt.”
No audio.
No corroboration.
Investigators skeptical.
Then Anna remembered someone.
Before rescue, while upstairs earlier, she saw a man in gray maintenance uniform near fifth-floor service hall.
She assumed staff.
No scheduled maintenance.
Security footage traced.
Face partially visible.
Raymond recognized.
Peter Hale.
Former St. Vincent research coordinator.
Worked under R-6.
Peter had resigned four years ago after compliance dispute.
Police found him next day.
He did not flee.
He said Claire invited him.
Messages confirmed.

So he was not intruder.
Claire lied.

Then Claire asked:
“Can this hurt Ethan?”

“Could Ethan lose everything?”

Again no magic fortune.
Then Sophie cried.
Peter watched Claire lift baby.
He shouted:
“What are you doing?”
He moved toward her.
Claire released Sophie.
Peter froze in horror, then ran down service stairs trying reach ground floor.
He arrived too late; Anna had already caught.
Why didn’t cameras show him afterward?
He exited through service door in panic.
Bad.
But not accomplice.
He contacted lawyer that evening after seeing police reports.
Why wait?
Fear of being blamed due old R-6 history.
Then Claire’s motive looked even stranger.
Peter said immediately before act Claire whispered:
“If Sophie disappears, they have to open Rachel’s file.”
That was monstrous.
Did Claire intend death as leverage?
She denied wording.
But Peter had no recording.
Then Rebecca produced text Claire sent thirty minutes earlier:
If something happens to Sophie, you can’t keep Rachel’s file sealed.
Rebecca responded:
Nothing is going to happen to Sophie. Stop this.
There.
Claire had been contemplating “something.”
Still why?
Because Rachel’s file contained something Claire desperately wanted.

Claire believed Rachel had named someone.
