Police entered Room 906.
Empty.
Fresh coffee.
Laptop still warm.
Someone had left minutes earlier.
On screen:
live feed from gala ballroom.
Victor saw himself standing beside overturned Case 14.
Whoever planted recorder had been watching.
Then video switched automatically.
Sarah appeared.
Alive.
Recorded recently.
“Dad, if you’re seeing this, I’m sorry.”
Victor gripped chair.
“I disappeared the first time by choice. I disappeared second time because I found something I couldn’t bring home.”
She confirmed timeline.
Eleven months earlier Daniel helped her access archive.
Richard unexpectedly arrived because building alarm alerted him.
Sarah panicked and left through service corridor.
She chose disappear while investigating.
Daniel later lied at her request.
For five months she worked with Anna Pike.
She proved Claire was framed.
She proved Victor’s signature was cloned.
She proved Thomas Keene moved money.
Then she discovered $11.8 million transfers were not theft.
They were initiated by someone using Ashford legacy account to force dormant funds through audit pathways and return them.

demonstrate system remained vulnerable.

Sarah herself.
Victor’s face fell.
She had moved money.
Not for profit.
Still unauthorized.
She believed board would bury vulnerability unless real transaction proved it.
She used Thomas Keene to execute transfers without telling him full purpose.
Thomas siphoned portions temporarily for himself, turning test into crime.
Sarah discovered and forced money returned.
That was why she feared prison.
But why disappear second time?
“Because Thomas wasn’t person I was trying to expose.”
Sarah continued:
“The old fraud against Dawson employees was never fully fixed.”
Restitution reserve corrected dollar amounts.
But twenty-seven workers were misclassified.

Margaret knew.
She hid manual ledger.
Sarah wanted board reopen claims.

Then Sarah said:
“Someone offered me deal. Stay quiet and every family gets paid.”
Victor whispered:
“Who?”
Video continued.
“I refused.”
Image glitched.

Victor leaned forward.

Actual coercion began.
“I escaped after two days.”
She had been confined somewhere.

“I won’t name person on recording because Lily could be used against me.”
Then she held up black case label:

“I hid evidence in Case 15.”
Police had found records.
But perhaps more.
Victor remembered medical folder.
Foam lining.
They searched deeper.
Nothing.
Then Sarah said:
“Case 14 tells you who lied.”
Daniel.
“Case 15 tells you why Mom died believing family betrayed her.”
Forged benefit amendment.
Both mysteries now partially explained.
“But neither tells you who locked me up.”
Victor’s chest tightened.
“Third case does.”
Screen displayed:
CASE 16.
No one had mentioned Case 16.
Then Sarah looked directly into camera.
“Claire knows where it is.”
Claire shook head violently.
“No.”
Daniel stared.
“Claire?”
She whispered:
“I thought she destroyed it.”

“What is Case 16?”
