Sarah’s disappearance was reconstructed precisely.
Day 1:
She found Daniel’s briefcase through storage auction listing.

She called Nathan.
She arranged Noah’s backup instructions.
Day 2:
She met Adrian Price about Graybridge and ring S-04.
He admitted wearing Daniel’s ring and remaining silent about unauthorized financing.
He left.
She met Malcolm.
She let him take nearly empty briefcase.
She wanted see whether he panicked.
He did.
Day 3:
Sarah traveled Albany to meet Claire Dawson.
Claire confessed printing forged letters.
Claire identified Malcolm as source.
Sarah then contacted Helen Ward.
Helen showed trust records proving she had been deceived too.
Michael Kane followed because his unauthorized Bellwether monitoring flagged Sarah’s travel.
He warned Helen that Malcolm’s investigator might be watching.
Helen arranged independent attorney.
Sarah stayed hidden while counsel secured copies and contacted authorities.
Day 4:
Sarah learned Noah had left neighbor and reached Richard.
At that point she emerged.

No secret captor.
Sarah’s biggest error was believing evidence had to be secured before she returned to child.
She apologized without excuse.
Richard asked:
“Why not trust police immediately?”
“Because Daniel died with evidence missing, and every official document I had was lying to me.”

Sarah accepted.

Yet Chapter 15 still had to explain one thing Richard feared most:

Daniel’s death was tragic accident.

Richard felt strange relief.
