“And Claire?”
“She decided too.”
Claire looked away.
Ethan's anger wasn't only toward Eleanor.
Claire had hidden Sarah.
Claire explained she feared Ethan would confront clinic publicly before DNA.
“That wasn't your choice to make for me.”
“I know.”
Their marriage would need repair.
Then custody question became unavoidable.
DNA confirmed Baby B was genetically Ethan and Claire’s daughter.
Sarah was gestational carrier under fraudulent contract.
The contract listed nonexistent intended parents.
Legal experts said Ethan and Claire had strong claim to parentage, but extraordinary facts required court supervision.
Sarah did not contest genetics.

Ethan looked at Lucy.
Then Claire’s belly.
Two daughters from one embryo split.
One born.
One unborn.
Not ordinary twins.
But undeniably connected.
Then Detective Brooks received message.
Martin Keene wanted plea discussion.
He would admit unauthorized transfer.
But he claimed someone else told him Bennett family had approved.
