Samuel Vane had helped stage the drowning.
That explained why Jonathan’s box reached his office.
Henry gave it to him for safekeeping.
Samuel never destroyed it.
After Henry died for real, Samuel opened it.
Inside were letters.
Not corporate evidence.
Letters Henry had written to a woman named Rose Bell.
Nora Bell’s older sister.
Henry had maintained a relationship with Rose for years.
They had a son.

The investigator Henry later paid to leave.
Ethan stared at the family tree.

When frightened, Eleanor tried to control children through humiliation and force.

She did it to Lily.
The staircase manipulator exploited precisely that weakness.
Someone knew Eleanor could be pushed into doing something terrible if convinced it would restore Richard’s love and reveal Jonathan’s truth.

Ethan looked at David’s interview.

Ethan recognized it.
Not because he knew Thomas.
Because Victor Kane’s employment file listed his previous legal name.

Ethan returned to the setup footage.
The image was mirrored.

Richard remembered.
