The attempted trust withdrawal requested $1.2 million.

“retroactive child support reimbursement to custodial mother.”
That sounded superficially plausible.
Elena had raised four boys for six years.
But she had not requested it.
Electronic authorization used scanned signature identical to the forged hospital release from six years ago.

Not necessarily theft? He intended payment to Elena, ironically. But unauthorized use of signature and trust process.

If funds transferred to account under Elena’s name, could later be portrayed as she accepted Mercer/Vance payout?

“You’re destroying billions in potential value over a waitress and four children.”
I nearly hung up.

“Elena is urban planner.”
“What?”
“You keep calling her waitress. She was working restaurant because she needed money.”
“Semantic.”
“No. It’s how you make people smaller before taking choices from them.”
Silence.
Then Malcolm said:
“You sound like your father.”

“Your father wasn’t as innocent as you think.”
My pulse changed.
“What now?”
“He knew Halcyon could be manipulated.”
